glamour actress photography I had another photo-commission at our local community theater this week. They are putting on a performance of “Pippin”, which opens next week. In addition to the usual lobby headshots, last weekend the director suddenly decided that he wanted a huge poster of the female-lead to be on-stage as a prop. This prop is supposed to look like an advertising poster for a burlesque show, so the “assignment” was to shoot the female-lead in show-girl costume and provocative pose. Now, I am hardly into “glamour photography”, but along with the actress we came up with a number of different looks that the director could choose from, and this is the version that he decided upon. One amusing thing is that because of space limitations we had to do this shoot in the theater lobby right in front of the big picture-windows that look onto the street â€" much to the distress of the actress. I’m sure that our activity will have drummed up some extra business for the show from the casual (male) passers-by however. Fortunately the only hooting and whistling was coming from the actress’s husband standing behind me. Strobist; Key; camera-right; Alien Bees B-800 at -1f into 64-in silver PLM with diffusing panel.
